EGI-Mr. Heater Acquires Competitor’s Assets
CLEVELAND, OH (August 7, 2008) – Enerco Group, Inc., through its subsidiary, Mr. Heater®, has acquired specific assets of CFM Corporation in Ontario, Canada.
The acquisition includes certifications, brand names, and tooling for three CFM product lines: Dyna-Glo® Tag-A-Long indoor-safe portable heaters, Legacy® Vent-Free wall-mount blue flame and infrared heaters and a full line of propane tank top outdoor radiant heaters.
“We viewed the purchase of these CFM’s assets as an opportunity to strengthen Mr. Heater’s position as a leading manufacturer of portable residential, recreational and commercial heating products,” said Enerco Group’s President and COO Jeff Mack. “Our plan is to continue supporting CFM’s relationships with retailers and assimilate CFM’s technologies into the Mr. Heater line.”
The assets purchase resulted from the announcement of CFM’s filing for bankruptcy in April, 2008. Mr. Heater has already started integrating CFM’s product lines into its extensive offering of portable heaters and accessories.
“Having Mr. Heater’s technical knowledge, customer service, and logistics supporting the CFM brands we purchased will be to the advantage of our retail partners and vendors as well as the consumer,” added Mack.
Retail buyers who have questions about their present CFM Dyna-Glo, Legacy and tank top heater lines should contact EGI-Mr. Heater at 1-800-251-0001.
